can i get fault codes without taking my van to the dealer or a mechanic. i have the 3.3 engine

Hi Tim,
You can often get a free readout at an Autozone parts store. Or try the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then see if any 4-digit numbers show up in the odometer window of the cluster. "Done" means there are no codes, P1684 means that the memory was erased in the last 50 key cycles and is not relevant. Let me know anything else and we can go from there.
