Chrysler Repair: Misfire when engine is warmed up, champion plugs, valve models

Question
QUESTION: My 98 Cirrus never had an issue until now. The problem started when the car just shut off and would not start. The starting problem was corrected by replacing the crank position sensor. The car then started but ran rough. I found one plug had the electrode burn almost all the way off . The tune up (cap, rotor plugs wires) had only 22,000 miles on it with quality parts.I found oil on the plugs and wires so I replaced the plugs and wires again but this time I also replaced the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube gaskets After that the same problem re-appeared just as before ,the car runs great when cold but after driving about five miles it misses the engine light flashes. After it sits and cools off it starts up great and runs real strong then does the same thing. The car has 111,000 miles it has been very well maintained and has never let me down until this. I was thinking it might be cam sensor/ distributor , the OBD2 codes are PO 300,301,304 misfire 1-4 and multiple misfires. I am at my wits end as I don't want to start dumping part after part the cam sensor is part of the distributor from what I have read about this 2.5 6cyl engine and it's a $300+ part. Any ideas? Thanks, Terry

1996 - 2000 (JX) Sebring Convertible
NOTE: THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vehicle may intermittently exhibit any of the following conditions:
• Rough engine idle.
• Hard start or long crank after hot soak.
• Start and stall when started with cold engine.
• Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0300, Multiple Cylinder Mis-fire.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using the Diagnostic Scan Tool (DRB III®) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures,
verify all engine/transmission systems are functioning as designed. If other DTC’s are
present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding
further with this bulletin. If the condition(s) can be duplicated or is described by
the customer, it may be caused by the EGR valve being stuck partially open. To
confirm whether or not the valve is stuck partially open:
1. If the condition(s) can be duplicated, then block off the EGR passageway to the
intake manifold. If the condition(s) disappear, but will reappear when the EGR
passageway is re-opened, perform the Repair Procedure.
2. If the condition(s) cannot be duplicated, but are described by the
customer, perform the Repair procedure.
