Chrysler Repair: 99 Grand Voyager Heat problems, calibration procedure, grand voyager

Question
Hello,

Our 1999 Ply Grand Voyager's heat is not working - it blows cold air mostly, although at times it warms up briefly. I took it in to a mechanic who "recalibrated it" which made the heat turn on, but this lasted only a few minutes (long enough for me to pay and leave though). The heater core hoses are both hot, coolant is topped up, etc. I wonder if there is some electrical problem, since there are other wierd things happening (wipers quit sometimes, there's a buzzing noise in the driver's side dash when using the turn signals, etc.) Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Mike,
The problem is likely with the blend door actuator or the blend door itself being stuck in the full heat position. There is as you already know a self-test/calibration procedure which will attempt to correct or tell you what is wrong. It is a long enough text that I find it easier to xerox copy and mail it to you along with the details of where the actuator is and how to get to it. If you would like those let me know and tell me a postal mailing address. If you would be so kind as to send back three 42-cent stamps to cover my costs that would be appreciated, after you get the pages.
