Chrysler Repair: LHS automatic floor gearshift hard to get out of Park, postal mail, xerox copy

Question
I have been having a hard time taking my gearshift out of park, i put new brakes on the car and bled them, and it made it a little easier, but took apart the console and looked at the gearshift itself, thinking something sticky got down there, and it looks like I need a new cable, called around the autoparts stores, they said i have to get ahold of a dealership, is there anything else it could be besides this cable, so i can check too in case this isnt the original problem? funny how i get down to the last payment on the car, and it starts falling apart! :)

Hi Rhonda,
It may be the interlock cable/system between the ignition switch and the floor shifter. What is the year model of the car? Probably the best approach would be for me to xerox copy and postal mail you the pages from the shop manual that apply to the entire mechanism. So let me know the year and a postal mailing address.
