Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Minivan 2000 washer hose, chrysler minivan, rear windshield

Question
Roland-

My wife's minivan sprays fluid to the rear windshield, but not the front.  Plenty of fluid- found a hose coupling came loose, thus no fluid to front.  There was a plastic piece in between the short hose coming from the front, and a longer hose coming off the fluid container.  There was clearly a plastic piece missing from the connection, no way to simply re-connect 'em.  I pulled out the plastic fittings from both hoses, and spliced 'em w/ electrical tape- but still no go.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Tom,
Have a helper try the washer switch while you listen at the reservoir for the pump to sound or not. If not, check the switch at the steering column and then the motor itself. If the motor works then I would check the outlet squirter at the windshield to see if it is clogged and if so insert a fine wire to clean it out. If not, then I would get the proper fitting to connect the hoses at a dealer parts counter after verifying that you get water under pressure when you open the splice.
