Mercedes: Trunk will not open, mercedes benz, wd40

I have a 1986 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 560. I tried to open the trunk and it would not open. The lock will not turn completely to the left and does not pop out as it used to. It seems to be stuck in the inward position. What can I do to get it open?

Try another key. Using WD40 with the delivery straw insert it in the tumbler and spray. Insert the key several time to work in the lubricant.
Push down on the lid and try to rotate the key to the open position.
If that does now work. You may need to take the vehicle to a dealer and have them give it a try.
