Chrysler Repair: 1999 Town&Country Engine Fuse blow, starter relay, aramis

Question
Hi Paul-Aramis,
Thanks for the photo. I identified the plug in the picture as being #6 associated with the power distribution center. The two wires that you listed are indeed 12v-carrying lines (the red/dark blue provides power to the relay that powers the automatic transmission, the yellow/red provides power to the starter relay actuation coil) but neither of them are related to fuse 17 which is the circuit in question that is blowing.

Hi Roland.
Thanks for the answer. But my problem is: where are those two relays exactly located? That's the "big" mystery for my mechanic.

Answer
Hi Paul-Aramis
The only relay involved with fuse #17 is the ASD relay which is the rearmost relay in the same box under the hood, just in front of fuse #28. There is no other relay than that involved in drawing current from fuse #17. So go to that relay's socket, remove the relay, then test the resistance to ground on the middle socket pin and it will be found to be shorted. Then start disconnecting to find out which one, of all the devices that I listed draw power from that relay, until you find one that when disconnected causes the resistance to rise above a dead short to ground so that the resistance is more than one ohm.
