Chrysler Repair: 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee: lights flicker, jeep grand cherokee, 2005 jeep grand cherokee

I have an 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee that will occasionally experience a headlamp flickering and interior dash flickering at the same time.  I have been told that it is the BCM.  Could that be the problem? or could it be the ECM PCM or ECU?  What are the differences and what do they do?

I don't have the manual for that vehicle but I would not try replacing any of the computers until it gets to the point where it does 'on demand' so the exact cause can be found with the aid of a voltmeter. The BCM is likely involved in both lighting systems, but that doesn't mean it is the cause. The other acronyms are for the engine control unit and would not be relevant to this issue.
