Chrysler Repair: 1999 Cirrus: Power Windows stopped working, window mechanisms, circuit breakers

Question
QUESTION: My power windows stopped working, they worked all day and once I tried to close the driver's side it wouldn't work, none of the windows are working, I'm looking for a manual but am unable to get one where I live, have to order it in, can you maybe suggest where I could download a wiring diagram I would appreciate it.

ANSWER: Hi Jeannie,
The website for Autozone.com may show either wiring diagrams or at least fuses/circuit breakers for the car. In the meantime, if you will remove the end cap from the left end of the dash (open the driver door for access) you will find inside a fuse/circuit breaker panel. There is one relay (square large box) and just to the rear of that are a couple of circuit breakers. The rear one of those is labelled C.B. 2 and that is what powers the window motors. Try resetting the lever switch to the other side so that it look like C.B. 1 and that should get power to the window switch and from there on to the motors. Let me know if that doesn't do it.

QUESTION: Wow, thanks Roland, worked like a charm, is this just a temporary fix, do I have to replace the circuit breaker now.

Thanks So Much, no wet seat this morning

Answer
You are welcome, Jeannie. The circuit breaker is resettable so it is likely to not be damaged. If one of the window mechanisms/motors is drawing too much current due to friction then the same circuit overload might happen again. But only time will tell. It may just be a rare event and in any event the circuit breaker would just switch off as needed. In the meantime, enjoy the car.
