Chrysler Repair: 2005 chrysler 300: no tail lights, 2005 chrysler 300, loose ground

Question
My tail lights don't work but my brake lights do. I checked the fuses and bulbs. What could be the problem?

Answer
Hi Al,
The '04 manual that I have shows the fuse to be #7 in the box behind the dash cap on the left side. It powers the park lamp relay and thus the tail lights. So take another look at that fuse for the possibility of a subtle crack in the wire, and if that is OK then try switching out the relay with another one of the same part number. Do the front park lights work? If so, then I would suspect an open connector or loose ground wire at the rear. Let me know what you learn and we can go from there is you haven't solved it. The park lamp relay is the bottom one of three small relays in the rear-most row in the box (just above a larger daytime running lamp relay).

PS Sorry for the delay. I just saw your question in the 'pool'.
