Chrysler Repair: interior lights: 97 minivan, plymouth grand voyager, strut mounts

Question
1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE 3.3L

All interior lights work when door is opened, except the two front and center overhead courtesy lights. They will push on/off, but not with the door action, as all others do. The headlight switch has 3 settings. None of which operate the front center interior lights. I checked the fuse box under the hood and found nothing. Could the headlight switch be bad? What else to check? Also, on a different path, same vehicle front, do strut assemblies tend to make low/dull bumping sounds when worn out, driving down the road or lifting vehicle, i.e. when lifting vehicle, can hear suspension type low sound near towers, everything underneath is solid and tight. Thought possibly struts or strut mounts could be going bad. It's mostly when vehicle is driving and bouncing left/right. Sorry about 'noise' reference, just want general idea of how struts behave when worn out. Thanks.

Answer
On the lights, I only have the '95 and '98 manuals, but I believe that the latter will be the same as on your '97. Can ouu tell me exactly where the 'two front and center overhead lights' are located, and can you tell me what you mean by 'push on/off' (e.g. push what?). Also which other interior light are illuminated by opening the door?  It appears that the mid and rear reading lamps on both sides should operate in tandem with the dome lights. All those are powered by the courtesy lamp relay. However, the liftgate lights have a hard-wired ground and will always come on but the preceeding list of  lamps depend upon a "reading lamp" ground via the body control module in order to be illuminated. So those overhead lights may not be designed to be operated by the doors but rather strictly controlled as you find them to be.
I am not familiar with the causes of noise that you mention. I have learned that the bushings on the anti-sway bar is often the source of such sounds, however.
