Chrysler Repair: 04 Sebring problems, crankshaft pulley, camshaft position

Question
Roland,
I have a 04 sebring 2.4l dohc 16 valve 4cyl.  After checking for the dtc it came back with codes P0016 and P0340.  The work that I have completed thus far is replacement of the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, and spark plug wires due to no spark from old wires.  My car will turn over but will not crank.  I am assuming that there is an issue with the timing chain and it may have either stretched or skipped a tooth or two.  My question is this: 1) where is the chain and 2)how do I realign it?  And do I need to reset the computer in order to get rid of the fault codes?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Heather

Answer
Hi Heather,
Getting to the timing belt is a project you may not want to undertake. I will be pleased to postal mail send you the pages about it after I copy them. It is located on the front of the engine but you have to remove the front engine mount and the crankshaft pulley/damper among other things. The pages would show how to check the timing. If you are getting spark, I wonder about the mixture. Was that other code 0016 or was it 0106? If the latter, then that would indicate an issue with the barometric sensor on the intake manifold which would cause a mal-mixture. So check that out first before going for the timing belt.
Let me know a postal mailing address if you want to pursue the timing belt. You can remove the old codes by disconnecting the battery, but a new code, 1684 will be set which just notes that the battery was recently disconnected.
