Chrysler Repair: haunted door locks, door switches, body control module

Question
My door locks on 2002 Chrysler T/C Limited are haunted.  They lock continuous as you drive.  When you unlock them they immediate relock.  It is a race when you unlock to open the door before they relock.  They continue to try to relock even after they are locked.  Please help me exorcise by car.  It has been a good car for 170,000 miles.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi GB,
That would suggest either that a lock/unlock switch is malfunctioning and defaulting to the 'lock' mode spontaneously or that a door is not being firmly closed due to an out of adjustment striker.
That could be tested by going to one of the three 34-pin plug as the body control module which is located under the dash on the bulkhead, to the left of the steering column. The plug in question is black/white and pins 21 and 22 are the leads from the left and right door switches, respectively. There should be no voltage on either of those wires until you activate the lock or the unlock request, but I would suspect that one of them has an unlock voltage request on it all the time.
If however you mean by "They lock continuous as you drive" that there is the sound of door locks clicking spontaneously as you are moving, then I believe that one of the doors is not being latched tightly enough so that system responds to the false alarm by automatically locking. If that is the case, try moving in-board the latch striker of the door which seems to be not pressed tightly against its frame. Try pulling on the doors from the outside while the engine is idling to notice if the interior lights come on or the door lock responds.
