Chrysler Repair: Replacing broken belt tensioner on 3.3 L engine, tensioner pulley, power steering pump

Question
I need to replace the serpentine belt and tensioner on my 3.3L engine on a 1993 Grnad Caravan with front wheel drive and air conditioning. The tensioner broke away from the engine. Is this a hard to do job? If not, please explain the procedure and, if you have it, please provide the correct belt routing.

Thanks a pile!!

Regards, Jim

Answer
Hi Jim,
You would want to begin by lifting the right front wheel and remove it. Then remove the inner wheel housing splash shield to gain access to the front of the engine.
This is how Kevin then answered the question last year:
"after the belt is off, the 15mm nut behind the tensioner is under the van so unless u can get under the van u might want to get some one to do this for u."
I don't know exactly what he means, but look at the tensioner to find the 15 mm nut. Then here is the belt replacement procedure:

"ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT - 3.3/3.8L ENGINE
The Poly-V serpentine drive belt is provided with a dynamic tensioner Accessory Drive Belt - 3.3/3.8L Engines to maintain proper belt tension to drive the following components:

generator
power steering pump
air conditioning compressor
water pump
REMOVAL
Raise vehicle on hoist.
Remove accessory drive belt splash shield Accessory Drive Belt Splash Shield
WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW DRIVE BELT TENSIONER TO SNAP BACK, AS DAMAGE TO TENSIONER AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY COULD RESULT.

Release belt tension by rotating the tensioner clockwise Accessory Drive Belt - 3.3/3.8L Engines
Remove drive belt.
INSTALLATION
Properly route and position belt onto all pulleys, except for the tensioner pulley Accessory Drive Belt - 3.3/3.8L Engines
Rotate belt tensioner clockwise until belt can be installed onto the tensioner pulley Accessory Drive Belt - 3.3/3.8L Engines Slowly release belt tensioner.
Verify belt is properly routed and engaged on all pulleys.
Install splash shield Accessory Drive Belt Splash Shield and lower vehicle."

The route of the belt, starting at the power steering pump and going clockwise is: generator, under the idler pulley, over the ac compressor, around the back side of the water pump (belt only touches about 1/4 of the pulley, and so that pump turns counter clockwise), under the crank pulley, over the tensioer pulley and back to the power steering pump.
