Chrysler Repair: Chrysler town&country 2000, chrysler town, half light

Question
My passenger side brake light and half of the brake light in the middle went out, the light are on but the brake light on the one side does not work it work for awhile when I replaced the taillight and then it went out.  Any ideas its not a fuse and its not the bulb.

Answer
Hi Roxann,
The half light in the middle is definitely a bulb or the socket into which the bulb fits, because all those bulbs are powered by the same wire, so it has to either be the bulb or an internal connection in the fixture.  The right brake bulb is powered by the same color white/tan wire so I would suggest that you check to see if you get 12V on that wire of the bulb socket when a helper steps on the brake. If so then it is the bulb or the local wires of that bulb which may be disconnected or the contacts for the bulb in the socket are dirty/corroded and need to be shined up.
