Chrysler Repair: Battery Draining Overnight, negative battery cable, fuse box

I have a question to why my battery would be draining overnight.  I shut off my car and opened the hood and you can hear a feint sound but when you take off the negative battery cable it stops.  And if i leave the negative battery cable unplugged overnight its fine.  If you know what would be the problem let me know.  Im thinking it may be the starter but im not sure.  My car is a 96 Sebring 2.5

Hi Josh,
Listen to see if the sound is coming from the rear of the car, inside the fuel tank. That pump inside the tank may be what you hear. It is controlled by a relay which may be stuck closed.
If that doesn't seem to be the location of the sound, then the best thing to do would be to try pulling the fuses out, one at a time, and listen to find which fuse is powering the unknown device. Let me know which # fuse is found to be the culprit and I will tell you what is powered by that fuse and we can go from there. Because there is a Sebring Convert. and a Sebring Sedan (two entirely different vehicles) please tell me which one you have. There is a fuse box in the engine comparment near the battery, and also a fuse box under the dash (for the convert, but not the sedan) so be sure you exhaust all the possibilities of fuses to pull.
