Chrysler Repair: 2002 town&country TCM replacement, no speedo now, drb iii, computer exchange

Question
QUESTION: Hi Roland,
I'm the guy who has the 2002 Chrysler t&c who had the trans stuck in "limp in mode"and told you the codes were p0700,and p0605,well i bought a refurbished tcm from auto computer exchange and replaced the out put speed sensor, you ask me to write back when i got the module in,so here i am put the module in and the car is still in limp in mode, although the check engine light is off now,im so frustrated with this thing, the company asked me the mileage and Vin and year so they could program it there,is there something else i need to do??????i thought for sure i had it fixed but it still wont go out of limp in mode, please help,.....

ANSWER: Hi Eric,
Have you tried disconnecting the battery to erase the old codes, then reconnecting to see if there is a new/different code? I'll check the trans manual and see if any other programming is needed, and if so send you a follow-up.
Roland
PS: Have you checked the trans fluid level?
It is possible that a procedure called the "quick learn" has to be done by a dealer using a DRB III plug-in device. One thing you might try before doing that is to by pass the transmission relay in the power distribution box under the hood, and that will abort the limp-in (which was originally accomplished by 'opening' that relay). You would remove the relay, 2nd from the front on the driver edge of the box, and then jump a wire from the rear inboard pin (30) to the front outboard pin (87) of the the relay socket. Then try driving and see if it behaves reasonably. The trans controller will 'learn' the characteristics of the trans as you go thru the gears and slow down for a dozen or so times. Then put the relay  back in after removing the jumper.
Those are some ideas to consider. Please let me know.

QUESTION: O.K. when i did the ignition check p1684 showed, and i noticed that on the dash where P R N D 3 1 is now those are circled by a square around them, when before they were not.and my speedometer is not working again. That is what i see,but the check engine light is off.

ANSWER: Hi Eric,
The 1684 is just the result of disconnecting the battery, so that is expected. The speedo not working is relevant because that will cause a limp-in in most cases. Check the plug on the output speed sensor again. Another code for the output speed sensor should show up soon when you check for codes if the speedo doesn't come back.
Did you notice my PS?

QUESTION: Are you talking about the 2 big plug ins, with all the wires, that plugs into a computer near the front of the van,i took off the top of the box were all the relays are for blowers doors etc.... and didn't see any relay for the transmission. Thanks again,if not the 2 plug ins then ill have to get it flashed i guess. They took down my vin, mileage and year of car said they would program it at the place were i baught the tcm,i guess it needs more programmed?

Answer
Hi Eric,
In box with the relays it is the 2nd relay from the front of the box  along the edge closest to the driver's side fender. I would hope that it would be identified on the box lid? but in any caae that is the transmission relay of which I spoke.
