Chrysler Repair: Van radiator leaking coolant from lower corner (draincock?), range of motion, coolant

Question
Facing van on the bottom right hand side, I can see fluid leaking out. There appear to be a black plastic part next to the radiator or part of the radiator with transmission lines. What is that part and its function and is it the thing that is leaking?

Answer
Hi Ronnie,
Based on your description, that item (if located on the engine side of the radiator) at the right corner (looking from the front) would indeed be the draincock. It may just be slightly loose, so try turning it clockwise to see if that stops the leak. If not, then you may want to buy and replace the draincock. To do that you turn it counter-clockwise until it reaches the end of its range of motion, then turn it clockwise 1/8 turn, and then pull it out of the housing. Of course you will have to collect the coolant that will drain from the radiator for reuse.

PS Though you didn't mention the year model I am using the '98 manual as the reference for the location of the draincock.
