Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Town and County - 2003, throttle position sensor, battery clamps

Question
My van started missing badly and lost power and started revving up and shifting gears all the sudden.  It has the following error codes.  P-0106, P-0123, P-1478, and P-168.4.  Additionally, when this is going on, the temperature sensor drops to cold and the battery light comes on.  All this started after I stopped and filled the car up with fuel.

Answer
Hi John,
The first two say that the MAP (manifold pressure sensor) and the TPS (throttle position sensor) signal voltages are too low. Both those sensors are powered by a 5 volt supply from the powertrain controller on a pink/yellow wire. I suspect that the wire to one or the other of those sensors is shorting to ground, so check the harnesses to those sensors to see if you see some heat damage to the insulation of the wires. Both sensors are on the top of the engine and so could be in high heat regions. The 1478 is about a temp sensor near the battery, which regulates charging rates. The wire to that sensor may have been damaged by corrosion, but that doesn't cause any of the driving problems so deal with that later. The 1684 says the battery was disconnected sometime in the past 50-100 key cycles and if that is not the case, then check the battery clamps.
I don't think this has anything to do with the fuel fill, purely coincidental.
