Chrysler Repair: grand voyager 2005: power sliding door, amp fuse, rear view mirror

Question
QUESTION: Hi, one of my automatic doors will not open fully.  When you, press the key fob, it will release the door lock and open a few inches, but will not roll back.  Can you help, as I am based in Ireland, and hate to pay the dealer.
many thanks

ANSWER: HI C. Hoy,
It would appear that the motor is not being powered or is not responding to a signal, or is not being sent a signal. I am working witht he 2002 manual but it is probably applicable. Check to see if fuse #31 in the power distribution box in the engine compartment might be blown or have a crack in its internal wire. That is a 40 amp fuse.
Other than that, it will take some electrical troubleshooting for which you would need a volt-ohm meter. Let me know if you need to do that, also if this is on the left of the right side of the van and is there a power door on the other side or not, and if so does it work?

QUESTION: Thanks for that answer. fuse is fine.   I have had a check at the wiring in the door harness and found two breaks on one wire.  door will open sometimes, and only closing parcially, when pressing open button on door frame. Button above rear view mirror to open, just clicks and locks it  and wont open it.   This faulty door is on the left side,  other door  (powered also) is perfectly fine.

What do you thinks wrong???

many thanks  c hoy

Answer
Hi C. Hoy,
Because I haven't had any personal experience working on this system the best approach would be for you to have the 21 pages of text and 10 pages of wiring diagrams that shows the details. I believe that if you have a voltmeter and the diagrams and theory of operation you should be able to sort this out. I would be pleased to xerox copy and mail this to you. I pay 10 cents per side for the copies, and whatever the postage turns out to be. You could reimburse me if it isn't too complicated to do so after you get the materials. So if you want to do this let me know a postal mailing address.
