Chrysler Repair: 2002 Dodge minivan wont start: battery weak?, dodge minivan, altinator

Question
My van would not start the lights where dim when I turned the key, we boosted it and it would run but then quit. we tried while it was running to disconnect the battery to check to see if the altinator would keep it running but it would shut off. In previous vehicles this would be a test to see if the problem was the altinator. What makes me question this is I attached my other cars battery and the van stayed running. I guess I just need a little assurance of what Im doing if you have an answer it sure would be appreciated. Thankyou

It does sound like the battery. The alternator, if it were the problem, you would see it as a low reading on the voltmeter on the dash (or a battery warning light if you don't have a volt gauge on the dash). How old is the weak battery compared to its warranty? If it is near the end of the warranty that would be another sign that the battery is your problem.
