Chrysler Repair: Input and Output Speed Sensor Replacement., speed sensors, chrysler lhs

Question
Hello,
I need to know how to get to the input and output sensor on my 1999 chrysler LHS. I had a reading done and it gave a code to replace sensor. I have read several answers but it does not say how to get to it. I know it is under the car and behind the wheel is it that simple?

Answer
Hi Terrance,
The speed sensors are on the side of the transmission, on the driver's side in fact. They are both at the same level, about midline, and they look nearly identical and have an electical plug which is released by lifting a tab on the side of it. The input is forward on the transmission (forward too of the vertical shift rod near the bell housing) and the output is near the rear of the transmission (on the other side of the shift rod). The code should have told you which one needs to be replaced: 0715 is input, 0720 is output. You simply unscrew and screw in the new one to a torque similar to that of a spark plug. I can't say whether you go for them from above or from under the car, but get the replacement part so you know what you are looking for when you begin the search.
