Chrysler Repair: 98 Chrysler Concorde Electric Fan, chrysler concorde, hose clamps

Question
I have a 98 Chrysler Concorde and the electric fans to cool the engine are not coming on almost causing the engine to overheat.  I have checked the fuses and they check fine.  Are there other "cheap" things to check first before taking this car to the shop?  If the fans need to be replaced, how do I get to them?

Answer
Hi David,
Check carefully at fuse 21 behind the left end cap of the dash in the fuse box. That one operates the relays for the fans, it might have a subtle crack in the wire. The main power for the fans is from fuse B and E in the box under hood.
If the fans don't come on with A/C then check for power to the fans because they should always come on then. If they get power but don't work here is how to remove:
Drain the radiator,
Remove the upper radiator crossmember
Remove hose clamps and hoses
Remove transmission cooling hoses and plug
Remove oil cooler lines (if equipped)
Remove fan electrical connector
Remove fan module

Install is the reverse.
