Chrysler Repair: p1698 and p1391, inner fender, intermittent loss

Question
how check and solve the above codes {pcm, tcm, bcm)
the car starts fine, but stays in 2nd gear, the speedometer
and the gear selector do not work.  After awhile of driving
it cuts off and no problem restarting

Answer
P1698 No CCD Messages Received From PCM
P1391 Intermittent Loss of CMP or CKP
The P1698 code means that no digital data is being received by the powertrain controller from the transmission control module, located on the right inner fender. Using an ohmmeter, measure for continuity (near 0 resistance) between pin 4 of its plug and pin 11 of the data link plug under the dash and pin 59 of the powertrain controller plug.
Then check the resistance between pin 43 of its plug and pin 3 of the data link connector or pin 60 of the powertrain controller plug. The powertrain controller is on the opposite side of the engine compartment on the left inner fender. These module plugs are held in place by a bolt. If the continuity between the transmission and the powertrain CCD wires checks to be ok, then according to the manual the trans controller should be replaced. I highly suspect that you will find bad wiring at a plug which the pcm to ccd wire has rotted off and the wire going from the PCM to the crank or cam pos. sensor is about to causing the 1391 code.
