Chrysler Repair: 1995 chrysler cirrus lx 2.5 v6; stalling, chrysler cirrus, 1995 chrysler cirrus

Question
Hello Roland. I seem to have much the same problem with my cirrus as the last guy. No Start. It all started with my car backfiring occasionally as we were going down the highway to almost dying. Then one day it would not start. I checked for fuel and spark, (got both) but that was as far as I could go. Had car towed to a shop where I was told it was the distributor. $500 and 2 weeks later I got my car back. Not even 2 weeks after that the same thing happened. So I called the mechanic, left a message and proceeded to change the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Still nothing. Had it towed again. This time I was told bad wire on O2 sensor and flooded. Picked the car up. Drove less than 50 miles and it now sits again. Now the mechanic is avoiding my calls. What would cause the cylinders to keep flooding as this seems to be what the mechanic is saying without telling me what is actually wrong? I appreciate any help you can give.

Answer
Hi Mark,
Try for fault codes using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on, doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the flashes between each pause, then do it again to be sure you have an accurate count set. Then group the numbers in pairs in the order of appearance to form the two-digit fault code numbers. The last number will always be 55, which means end of readout. Then write back with the numbers or go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a code translation list.
