Chrysler Repair: power window motor; 03 Sebring, chrysler sebring, sebring lx

Question
I have a 2003 Chrysler Sebring LX and the driver's side window motor is going.  How do I replace this myself?

Answer
Hi Kristen,
Unfortunately, the '03 manual that I have for the Sebring is only partial in that just shows the part about taking off the door trim panel and removing the mechanism (regulator it is called) that moves the glass, to which the motor is also attached. There is also info about the motor proper replacement, but that is in a different section of the Chrysler manuals which is not included but rather is covered in the '02 manual, which I don't have. I would believe that the major issue is getting to the motor/regulator (I assume that the regulator has to come out to reach the motor but you can check that once you get the trim off) and once you have that, the motor itself may not be that complicated to remove and replace. So if you would like what I have I would be pleased to xerox copy and mail you the pages that I do have. Please let me know, via a new question, what is your postal mailing address. Also, just to be clear in my mind, the LX is the sedan and JX is the convertible, correct.
