Chrysler Repair: possible short in O2 wiring, jeep grand cherokee, nomination vote

Question
Can you tell me which fuse powers the downstream O2 sensor in a '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8?  The wiring harness came loose, falling on the drive shaft which wore through the insulation exposing the copper wires.  I am getting codes 0138 and 0142 but before replacing the O2 sensor I want to check for a blown fuse.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi John,
As I explain in my 'expertise' claim on the home page, I don't have wiring diagrams for any of the jeep models. However, based on the other Chrysler line models, the oxygen sensors are usually heated by the output of the automatic shutdown relay, for reasons of fire safety, so if the engine is running it would suggest that the fuse that powers them is still OK. It would be a 30 or 40 Amp fuse in the power distribution box under hood. And it might be a dark green/orange wire that carries the heater current. The signal wire might be tan/white or pink/white, and the common sensor ground is probably black/light blue. So those might give you some clues for checking shorts in the harness.
