Chrysler Repair: anti theft wont disarm, 91, power door locks, chrysler new yorker

Question
QUESTION: How do I get the anti theft to shut off on a 1991 chrysler new yorker, car will not start

ANSWER: Hi Paula,
Try lock/unlock using the door key, first on driver's door, then if that doesn't clear it, do the same on the passenger side door. Let me know if those don't work. The next step is to go to the anti-theft module above the glove box and replicate the lock/unlock action electrically with a simple jump wire and straight pins. If you want to avoid the problem in the future then never use the door key or the power door locks when you exit the car; rather secure the doors by means of the mechanical push-buttons which thus circumvents ever setting up the alarm system.  Finally, if you want to get rid of the system that can be done at the time you access the module, but first we have to get is "cleared" from the alarmed out status so that the engine is running when you "pull the plug" on it.

QUESTION: Do I hook the jump wire to the battery and then to the straight pins and then what? When you mentioned the door locks I remembered that the power locks had quit working about a week before this happened. Is that part of the problem? Thank you

Answer
Hi Paula,
No, there are a couple of wires at the theft module that you specifically pierce with the pins, then touch them together once and then separate them. That replicates lock/unlock of the door. When you get to the module (after removing the glove box, by removing all the screws around the opening and dropping it down) look above it and there is a crosspiece with possibly several modules on it. The theft module has a natural plug with 21 pins. The black/light green on pin 1 and the dark green/orange wire on pin 8 are the ones you want to try the pin touch technique to. Then see if it starts. If you get it started and WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING pull the plug out of the module, that will safely kill the system, if you want.
On the power door locks not working, I would check fuse 13 (20 amp) under the dash. Interestingly, that one also powers the theft module, so indeed the whole problem could be related to a blown fuse 13. So start by checking the fuse 13.
