Chrysler Repair: My 2001 300m Stalls when idling, 4 digit numbers, fuel injector cleaner

Question
In early October I was rear-ended by a teenager.  My car was in the body shop for about 6 weeks.  When I picked up my car I started having this problem that my car would stall when I was pulling into a parking lot/driveway, or coming up to a light, etc. My Car will now periodically stall when idling.  The engine light will come on when the engine dies, but it restarts just fine without a check engine light, or any other warning lights.  I noticed that the RPM's are very low as well, ususally idling at about 600-750 or so.  I took it back to the body shop (chrysler dealer) and the said it could be the battery or the fuel injectors.  I purchased a new battery and I used a powerful fuel injector cleaner (poured into gas tank) and the problem still persists.  I never had this problem before the accident, but they say it is a maintenance issue which they can't identify.  I have seen many Chrysler owners with similar problems.  What could be the problem?

Answer
Hi Andrew,
If you haven't sought for the fault codes that may be stored in the computer memory. An Autozone parts store will often do that for free, or an independent shop for $40. Get the 4-digit numbers and let me know what they are and we can go from there.
One manintenance item I would suggest would be to remove the air intake ribbed hose that goes into the throttle body and comes from the air filter and then use a q-tip and some solvent to clean off the throat of the throttle body and both sides of the throttle plate, as well as the small hole on the side of the throat through which the idle air is inducted in to manifold. It could be dirt in those areas that is causing the problem, or it could be idle air control motor that controls that air intake hole (there is a code for that if it is the cause of the idle problem).
Those are the step I would start with. Good luck.

There is a space for comments, to which I will respond. While you are there, I would appreaciat a "yes" under the space "nomination?" if this has been helpful.
