Chrysler Repair: need answers on code read out, 1999 chrysler lhs, chrysler lhs

Question
QUESTION: i am having the same problems as one of the other people on your questions and i need to know if these codes are all caused by the speed sensor

ANSWER: Hi Dustin,
I wonder how things worked out with the code readout? You can report back if you like by the 'thank/rate' tab below, without having to wait for me to be 'available' to take a question. While you are there, if my answer was helpful I would appreciate a vote of 'yes' for the 'nomination to be expert of the month'. I am in a close race for that honor so every vote is helful. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dustin,
There are several hundred codes of which probably no more than a dozen could be attributed to the speed sensor. Most codes also have several possible causes that have to be sorted out. So, if you get any codes let me know what the numbers are, and tell me the year, model, engine, transmission and the symptoms of the problem. If there is an Autozone parts store nearby, and your car is a 96 or later they will usually do a free code readout. On 95 and earlier you can use the ignition key to get the codes.

QUESTION: i changed both input and output speed sensors and still having problems with it sticking in 2nd gear and slipping before it sticks the car is a 1999 chrysler lhs 3.5 v6 so any info on this would be helpful thanks

Answer
Hi Dustin,
The changing of the speed sensors as a response to the trans going into limp-in mode is a 'hit or miss' approach. It appears to not have been the cause with your LHS transmission. As I told you earlier, you need to get a plug-in reader type of readout, using the socket that is under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. See if you have an Autozone Parts store near you for a free readout, or go to an independent shop who will do it for under $40. That is the only way to find out why you are having this transmission problem. Once you get the 4-digit code numbers write me back and tell me what they are.
