Chrysler Repair: 96 cirrus starting, crank shaft, chrysler cirrus

Question
QUESTION: 96 Chrysler Cirrus with a 2.5 engine; the car turns over, has fuel, air, spark and compression in the 130 psi range.  the crank shaft sensor was replaced to establish spark, car won't fire.  The garage says engine is bad? Is there a distributor?  Is there a timing issue?

ANSWER: if u have spark and fuel it will run. I would suggest that u recheck for spark and fuel pressure. Yes there is a distributor and above the crank sensor that was put in.

QUESTION: Thanks, I'm assuming from your reply that the compression pressure is okay, right?  Is it possible that the ignition timing is out of synch? (this is my daughter's car and the garage is telling her the engine is blown, poor kid owes $2k on the car loan)

Answer
the only way the timing would be out of sync is if some one messed with the distributor   or the belt broke   and well the belt is good because U got compression.  U can have them see if the timing is correct by aligning it to top dead center then mechanically in time. Spark comes from the distributor and is timed by the crank sensor  to tell it when to spark and so on.
