Chrysler Repair: 99 convertible: rear window, rear hub nut, a/c air distribution, sway bar bushings, spindle nut

Question
Just wanted to try and get a secone opinion on a few things before starting some repairs on my 99 sebring convertible (2.5 v6, 90,000 miles). I am experiencing the front end "clunk" that everyone seems to get with this model but no-one seems to ever be able to locate - have you had any luck or experience with this yet? I am getting ready to replace the front struts, strut mounts/bushings, and upper ball joints - everything else looks good - but am not sure if this will make a difference. It needs struts anyway and the upper ball joint boots are tore. The sounds seems like something is loose and/or shifting but everthing feels tight. Also, all of a sudden my heater/defroster will only blow through dash vents - no defroster or floor. Do you think it could be a faulty heater control unit or something within the linkages? I also need to relace the passenger rear wheel bearing - although it was fairly easy to locate a hub/bearing assembly in stock none of our local auto parts stores is able to get a spindle nut - is it ok to re-use the existing nut or does this nut need to be replaced? ok, last thing for now - do you have any idea where to get a set of instructions on the convertible top/rear window section replacement?

Answer
Hi Jake,
Rather than deal in detail with all four questions, let me give you a short response to each:
On the cluck, take a looks at the stabilizer (sway) bar bushings.
On the air distribution, try removing fuse #5 under the dash for a couple of minutes, then put it back in. That may well re-calibrate the mode door motor mechanism and restore normal function.
On the hub, the manual suggests replacing it and re-torqueing to 185 foot pounds. You should be able to get one from a dealer.
One the rear window replacement, there are a couple of pages from the '98 manual that I can xerox and postal mail to you.
