Chrysler Repair: ac air distribution doors:early 90s minivan, dodge caravan, vacuum switch

ac and heater will blow out on floor or windshield not dash on a 92 dodge caravan, has vacuum to switch and will caange from floor to defrost where is actuator and how do you get to it

Hi Pat,
The mode door actuator is on the driver's side of the housing, above the accelerator pedal. Remove the panel under the steering column which is held in place by screws. The mode door is the center one, held by a couple of screws to a bracket. Rotate counter-clockwise to remove it from the door and then pull it out. I would also check for vacuum in case the hose is cracked beteen the vacuum switch and the actuator.
