Chrysler Repair: 99 Chrysler 300: blower motor power module (ATC), amp fuse, chrysler 300

Question
QUESTION: My heat & ac fan stop working. I found a wire that was cut, I spliced it back together. No fan. Dealer said the module was bad. I went the junk yard put in module and it work for 4 days, then stop working. I did not put it up in the hole where it belongs and it got overheated. I went back and got another module but it won't work. Help

ANSWER: Hi Jerry,
You may have gotten a defective module at the junk yard. Other than that you will have to do some circuit testing. Have you checked that the fan motor works? Try jumping 12V to its connector to test for that possibility. Also, check fuse 23 behind the dash, and fuse J in the box under the hood as these provide power to the module/blower and either one of those could be blown out.

Answer
You will recall that we exchanged q and a's earlier this month about your car. I am competing to be recognized as 'expert of the month' for November, and the voting ends Sunday afternoon. If you would consider giving me a vote, that would be most appreciated. Use the "Thank/rate" tab below where you will see "nomination?" and then change the 'no' to a 'yes' to give me that support. I hope things are well with you and your vehicle.

Hi Jerry,
Just in case, check the motor again. See if fuse #23 shows 12V when you have the ignition switch in the 'run' position. That is another way to test fuse J. J by the way is the number 3rd from the in-board edge of the underhood box, in the front row of fuses. It is a 40 amp fuse.

Hi Jerry,
Any progress on the blower problem? Use the "thank/rate" to get back to me without having to wait for me to be 'available' to take a question.
