Motorcycle Repair: 73T140V Light switch, rear foot peg mount., vent pipe, frame tube

Question
Hello Brian. In Oct. 03, I went up to Ohio and bought a 73 T140v complete basket case with 5980 actual miles on it. I have it together, and had it started. I need help on how the wires go to the light switch in the headlight. I can't get the hi-lo beam to come on. The guy was going to make a cafe' racer out of it and had done away with the rear footpeg mounts. If they are like the ones on my 70 T120R, I can make them.
Also, I don't know how to mount the reflectors on the side by the gas tank, nor how the vent pipe runs.I have manuals, but non of the pictures show how this stuff hooks up. Any help you could give me would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks, Mack E.

Answer
Hi Mack, headlight switch colours are blue-white/blue-red. Rear footrests fit into hole in apex of 2 tubes welded to base of rear frame tube...top rear suspension mount at top, footrest at bottom the muffler also hangs from this point, reflector fits under tank in holes pre-drilled in the headstock bracket, between the tank and front forks, the tank doesn't have a vent, it breathes through a hole in the filler cap, if you mean the crankcase vent, this goes up the inside of the rear frame tube and under the seat and finishes at the back of the seat...Yes it's a long tube!!
