Chrysler Repair: Leak under instrument panel, passenger side, drain hole, control buttons

Question
My daughter owns a '91 Lebaron 2 door coupe. Last winter it developed a leak under the right side instrument panel. When it's raining hard it soaks the carpet. When it's dry outside there's no water at all. We have confirmed it is in fact only water, no coolant. Thus far we've taken the Cowl cover off and vacuumed in there so there's no debris. Thought we had the problem solved for a few weeks and now it's back. What should we look for next?

Answer
Hi Suzie,
The next thing to consider would be set the control buttons in the "recirc" position whenever you shut down the vehicle so that if it rains the chances are better that the water will drain from the intake cowl rather than go into the air intake port. Also, you might remove the cowl cover and probe the lower surface of the plenum at the far end to see if there is a drain hole of some sort that is plugged with decayed leaves/dirt. If you find something, insert a wire into the hole to push through the debris and thus clear the obstruction.
Let me know, please, if either of these work out for you.
