Engine lite came on and stayed on for about a week then went off but then all this started to happen to it after that happened. Put new spark plugs and wires thought it moisture but didnt help. its weird because this doesnt happen all the time. please help I am going crazy dont know what to do. Was told it could be speed censor or fuel filter clogged or even fuel pump getting hot. I dont have money to change all this any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Diana,
I am surprised that you either haven't had the computer memory read for any stored fault codes, or didn't mention it. Go to an Autozone parts store for a free readout or at an independent shop for around $40. Ask for the fault code numbers, what they mean, what they would do, and for how much? Then write back with the results and we can go from there. Let me know which engine you have in the car.
The check engine light going on means that there is at least one code stored. That will be the diagnostic tool to decide how to correct this problem. The most likely candidate is one of the two engine rotational position sensors which is breaking down electrically when it heats up.
