Chrysler Repair: 94 caravan, solenoid pack, readout device

Question
1)  Is there a way to calibrate the consoles temperature reading, I replaced the sensor in the grille and now its 20 degrees off?
2) Now the transmission - The car will downshift going into a stop, slip, and go into limp mode (sometime unnoticed and sometime with a bang).  I replaced the computer and changed the solenoid pack to no avail (both units work ok in another caravan).  It never does it when the engine is cold, not at every stop, and sometimes not at all.  The only thing that is constant is that the engine seems to "miss", when warm and at all RPM's.  So the questions are: what causes the "miss" when warm (no engine fault codes), does the ECM talk to the TCM through the data lines when the car is running, if so would the "miss" cause a problem with the tranny and the TCM?  The van runs perfect otherwise, so I'm really confused especially because it doesn't happen all the time and I switched 2 major players.  I had the TCM fault codes, but I have seemed to misplaced them for now, but it had to do with 2/4 downshift. Is there something in the valve body that may stick, you know those little balls?
3) What options are there for DRB II scanners, Horizon 4000?

Thanks a great deal - Doug

Answer
Hi Doug,
I don't understand what you mean by the "consoles temperature reading". Which console? Is this a digital readout device, and where in the grille is the sensor located, and is this the exterior front grille or a grille in the cabin. I am disoriented.
There are several 2/4 codes: 2/4 pressure switch circuit (22), 2/4-OD pressure switch circuit (23), 2/4 hydraulic pressure switch (32), 2/4 solenoid circuit (42). Do you recall which?
On the missing, I would wonder about the spark coil pack or the spark wires themselves as those are not very well monitored by the engine computer (thus they could be the problem without being detected).  The digital data bus connects the pcm and tcm all the time as well as other modules not related directly to the powertrain.
I don't know of an OBD-I type scanner other than the one sold by Chrysler (DRB II) and the Snap-on.
