Chrysler Repair: radiator fan vs ac usage, coolant temp, chrysler sebring

Question
i have a 2000 chrysler sebring conv i have just replaced the radiator fan and the engine coolant temp sensor, my question is the fan runs for awhile and then shut off and starts back up, isn't the fan suppose to run constantly when the a/c in on.  mine doesn't I drove the car for 25 miles and it didn't over heat but it seems like the fan is not running enough and could cause it to overheat.  When the a/c is off it gets up to norm temp and the fan comes on for awhile and then it goes back off for about 10 minutes and then comes back on for a few minutes.

Answer
Hi Robin,
What you described is normal, at least according to my '98 manual. In earlier years turning on the ac would always force the fan but in more recent years either the coolant temp or the pressure in the ac system have to hit preset levels to force the fan to either the low or the high speed depending upon on high the temp or the pressure.
