Chrysler Repair: 1994 New Yorker no start, fuel pump relay, obd ii

Hey Roland! Got another problem with my piece of crap.  Ended up replacing the PCM a couple of months ago after talking to you last.  Unfortunately the PCM I bought which was supposed to be new, must have had the VIN of a 1995 Dodge Intrepid left inside somehow.  This didn't seem to matter though since the car started and ran fine for the last two or three months.  I still have the trans. problem, but lets forget about that for now.  A couple of days ago, went out to start the car, and all it would do is turn over.  AT first I thought it was a fuel problem, but after checking the ASD relay and the fuel pump relay and fuse, I also checked to see if there was voltage to the fuel pump.  There was. After hours of frustration, not hearing the whirr of the fuel pump, I decided to replace the pump.  Only to find out when I hooked my old pump up to direct power, it worked.  So the fuel pump is not the problem.  Then I remembered a trick you taught me - to check for codes.  Using the ignition trick, I am unable to retrieve ANY codes.  It will not show codes at all.  On my other Chrysler, I did the same thing, and got codes.  I guess what I'm wondering is, did I lose my PCM?  Waiting to hear from you, Thanks

Hi Mike,
I don't know whether to conclude that no codes (not even a 55?) from the key means the pcm is gone. The replacement pcm might be OBD-II or in some other way not supposed to issue codes via the check engine light. Have you checked the spark when cranking? If you have pump and spark, then I would check to be sure that your egr valve is not stuck ajar which will prevent catching and idling. Check the movement of the valve stem, located inside the flange area between the vacuum operated top part and the valve body. The stem has a slot and you can move it with the tip of a screwdriver. Make sure the spring-action closes it to a dead stop. If sticking, spray some WD-40 on the stem where it enters the valve body.
