Chrysler Repair: 96 Chrysler Sebring convertible rear seats, chrysler sebring convertible, chrysler sebring

Question
QUESTION: I can't seem to find a way to remove the rear seats in my 1996 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Would you perhaps know how to go  about doing that?

ANSWER:
Hi Steven,
The seat cushion is removed by pushing rearward and upward at two points that are centered on each passenger position (where the hidden floor hooks are located). To put back, insert in position and push back and then downward to re-engage the floor hooks. On the backs, you remove the seat belt fasterner, then pull the bottom forward to clear studs, then lift up the backs to remove from hidden hooks on the back side.

QUESTION: It still seems like now matter how hard I push backwards and pull up and I can't get the seat to come up. I've felt around under the seat and located the only two spots that could possibly have hooks and I still can't get the seat out.

Answer
Hi Steven,
I am working with the '98 manual. It could be possible that they were redesigned and that your seat needs to be pulled forward? Aside from that, you may just have to push back harder and lift while pushing back, from a point just in front of each retainer on the floor. Please let me know what you learn.
