Chrysler Repair: chrysler concord lxi oil pan replacement, engine oil cooler, transmission oil cooler


Question
QUESTION: can the oil pan on a 1998 concord lxi be replaced with out lifting the motor off the motor mounts?  Is this something a backyard mechanic can do or do I need to leave it to the experts?

OIL PAN
REMOVAL
Disconnect negative cable from auxiliary jumper terminal.
Remove dipstick and housing.
Raise vehicle on hoist and drain engine oil.
Remove structural collar from rear of oil pan and transmission housing Structural Collar
Disconnect engine oil cooler line from pan.
Disconnect transmission oil cooler line clips.
Remove oil pan Oil Pan - Removal and Installation
Remove oil pan gasket.
Clean oil pan and all gasket surfaces.
ITEM DESCRIPTION TORQUE ITEM DESCRIPTION TORQUE
1  Bolt - M8  28 N·m (250 in. lbs.)  4  Nut - M6  12 N·m (105 in. lbs.)  
2  Bolt - M6  12 N·m (105 in. lbs.)  5  Bolt - M8  28 N·m (250 in. lbs.)  
3  Bolt - M6  12 N·m (105 in. lbs.)  - - -

INSTALLATION
Apply a 1/8 inch bead of Mopar® Silicone Rubber Adhesive or equivalent at the parting line of the oil pump housing and the rear seal retainer Oil pan Sealing
Install oil pan gasket to the engine block.
Install pan and attaching fasteners Oil Pan - Removal and Installation
Install the structural collar Structural Collar , using the follow procedure:
Install the vertical collar to oil pan bolts (1) Torque to 1.1 N·m (10 in. lbs.)
Install collar to transmission bolts (2) and tighten to 55 N·m (40 ft. lbs.)
Starting with center vertical bolts (1) and working outward, final torque all bolts to 55 N·m (40 ft. lbs.)
Lower vehicle and install dipstick and housing.
Fill engine crankcase with proper oil to correct level.
Connect negative cable to remote auxiliary jumper terminal
