Chrysler Repair: 90 New Yorker Fifth Avenue, amp fuse, circuit measurement

Question
I have a 1990 Fifth Ave.  Very suddenly the panel lights, tail lights, parking lights, horn, remote trunk release and electric door lock switches stopped working.  I checked every fuse in the vehicle, and they are all good.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Randy,
There is the power distribution box under the hood with some larger fuses in, located just in front of the left side strut tower which is a rectangular shape and adjacent to the left inner fender panel. Inside you will find a 50 amp fuse that may be labelled "parking lamps". Check that fuse as it is responsible for providing current to three fuses under the dash which are related to all the things that have failed. It may be that it just fatigued out, but if not we will have to do some circuit measurement to find out why is failed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked all of the fuses in the car and in the power dist. box.....all are good. Any other possibilities? The ignition switch was just replaced about a month ago.

Hi Randy,
That 50 amp fuse supplies fuses 13 and 14 and circuit breaker 15 all in the box under the dash. Those power virtually everything that doesn't work. Have you checked for voltage at those fuses? The ignition switch is not part of this circuit. Either the 50 amp fuse is no good or the wire between it and the fuse box is open, if you don't have voltage on those fuses. I can't see any other way for those items to be out of service. I assume that this is a front wheel drive Y-body 5th Avenue, correct?
