Chrysler Repair: 1998 Sebring air distribution, postal mail, floor vents

Question
We are having problems with our heating and air conditioning.  The fan motor works but we are getting almost no air through the front vents and the floor vents and none from the defrost vents.  Could it be the knob that changes the direction of air or the blend doors themselves.  How do we take out the dash to find the blend doors?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Debbie,
I would be better able to answer if you would tell me is this a convertible or a sedan Sebring? These are very different cars. Can you tell me if the air seems to be coming out anywhere at a better rate of flow, and what happens when you try to change the air distribution, does it change? I dounbt it is the blend door as that shifts whatever air there is one way of the other (cool or heating) with no ability to change the quanity overall. Please use the

Hi Roland,
It is a sedan. The air comes out of the vents above the controls the strongest. If a window is opened a little it blows a little more. It also helps to be on the highway. The knob does not work properly. Sometimes it clicks into position between where it is supposed to. Changing the air distribution does not help.

Hi Debbie,
I checked my manuals and find that there is a section about the control panel connections to the distribution housing. The most efficient way to help would be for me to xerox and postal mail these pages to you. There may be a problem with the cable(s) that you can fix yourself.
Use the "thank/rate" tab as you already have done but this time list a postal mailing address and I'll do that.
