Chrysler Repair: 2000 LHS drivers seat/mirrors/radio issues, drb iii, occasional glitches

Question
A while back my 2000 LHS driver's seat heater stopped working and the dealer told me it was a bad seat module.  It wasn't covered by my warranty so I had it replaced later at another shop and that did not fix the seat heater.  Everything else worked fine except for occasional glitches with the seat glide feature (when you turn the ignition on and off).  Three years later, the glide has stopped all together, the seat memory position buttons 1&2 do not adjust the seat but change the radio station instead, and the driver's side view mirror moves by itself every time I put the car in or out of gear.  The other driver's power seat adjustments still work.  I was wondering about ordering another seat memory module myself but cannot find any good diagnostic info to confirm what I should do.  Any ideas?  Could it possibly be the BCM or anything else causing these problems?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer
Hi Dave,
All the functions that are giving you a problem are mediated by the module of which you spoke. The BCM places little or no role in the operation except for allowing communication from the diagnostic readout box III if that were employed to test out the system to possibly locate the problem.
Before looking into another module I would recommend closely examing the wiring around the module and adjacent seat actuators and switches to see if there is a loose or damaged connection or a switch that needs to have its internal contacts cleaned with circuit board cleaner from a spray can.
There are about 14 pages of description of the system and wiring diagrams that I can xerox and postal mail to you if you would like. After you receive them if you would be so kind as to send me back 5 42-stamps to cover my copying and postal costs that would be appreciated.
The system can be tested with the DRB III available at a dealer if your check-outs don't identify a problem. I don't know what they charge for that compared to the module in question, so that would be something to evaluate.
