Chrysler Repair: 2001 Chrylser Town & Country body control module, chrylser, bcm

There is a question regarding this subject for a 1999 model. Can I assume location of the BCM for 2001 is the same? Also, I am told that these parts need to be flashed by a dealer when installing a used one. The local dealer says that the part must be installed when flashed. Can the vehicle be operated safely with a non-flashed BCM?

99 an 01 different vans different setup. The dealer will have the BCM coded from the company that they get them from U yourself do not have contact with them only through the dealer. The bcm stores the miles for the van so it has to be coded when they ship it from the location that they buy it from. Dealer can update them  but they are already to the most upto date software when shipped.
