Chrysler Repair: 2000 sebring convertible: gas gauge, fog lamps, mileage indicator, fuel guage

Question
QUESTION: Have two problems - 1. the low fuel light comes off and on even with full tank, also the fuel gaguge may or may not start to drop to empty.  Computer mileage indicator may or may not start to drop when low fuel light comes on.  The fuel guage is not very accurate below half tank.  No pump does not show any effect from the actions above.  2.  The fog lights don't work, no power, fuse is good, is a relay in the system or possible switch on blinker handle?
Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Jim,
I would check the resistance reading on pin 15 of the 20 pin black plug at the body computer, located behind the fuse panel under the dash (dark blue wire). It should read high when the tank is full and move to 0 ohm as the gas lowers in the tank. If not, then the unit in the tank is probably bad or the ground wire is bad (there is a splice on the back side of inner rear fender (inside the trunk) which then leads that black wire from the tank sender to ground.
There is no relay for the fogs. The fuse is #13, and it goes to the multi-function 10-pin plug (pin 10) and if you turn on the fogs the voltage should appear on pin 9 (light blue wire) of that same plug.
If the switch is working the fog lamp indicator would also come on.

QUESTION: If fuel sending unit is bad, does the pump have to be replaced along with the unit?  Also do I have to lower the tank to get to the unit/pump?

Answer
Hi Jim,
The sender appears to be a separable part of the pump module that can be replaced. But you do have to lower the tank to take out the module, unfortunately. Let me know if you have to do this and I can xerox copy and postal mail you the pages that show how to do this.
Thanks for the kind evaluation and comment!
