Chrysler Repair: code 54, plymouth voyager, 1994 plymouth voyager

Question
I have a 1994 plymouth voyager v6 that shows code 54.I did a tuneup and changed the optic sensor in dist.,also sprayed connectors with electrical cleaner. The van's check engine comes on now when cold, but after driving for afew minutes the check engine light goes out and it runs fine.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Answer
Hi Greg,
Other than the light, any other driveability symptoms? Have you disconnected the battery for a few minutes to erase the earlier code and then rechecked for codes after a few trips? (There will be a code 12 set as the result of disconnecting the battery so ignore that and the 55 code). You can get the codes with the ignition key which you are no doubt aware.
Use the 'thank and rate' tab to get back to me with a follow-up question/report and we'll go from there.
