Chrysler Repair: Instrument cluster removal:98 Sebring convert, chrysler sebring, tilt steering

Question
How do you change the light that is behind the spedometer of a 1998 chrysler sebring

Answer
Hi Shawn,
Do you have the convertible? If so here is how:
Remove the left end cap of the panel
Tilt steering column down to its lowest position
Remove the center bezel of the dash panel by disengaging 5 clips
Remove the cluster hood as follows:
Remove the three attaching screws behind the center bezel
Remove screw at left end of panel (behind where the end cap was)
Pull hood straight back to disengage 8 clips, but if you have the compass/minitrip computer, pull back 3 inches and stop, and then reach through the radio opening in the cluster hood to disconnect its wire. Then remove the cluster hood.
When replacing the hood, keep the forward end down when sliding forward so as to engage the clips properly.
That should give you access to the lamps. I think all the bulbs are #194.

PS let me know if you have the Sebring sedan.
