Chrysler Repair: AC belt? on minivan, tension gauge, belt tension

Question
I have a 2001 Plym Grand Voyager - the Serpentine belt fell off in the winter and I got it back on just fine - but now that it is AC season I noted the AC isnt working (the pump is such is fine that was just replaced last year)As I look at the belt system I notice there is another area for a belt to make the accessories work.  At this point the fan isn't even working and my wife says the Defrost hasn't worked too well at the end of winter but she just muttled thru.  I have asked around at the local auto store and to friends about this belt and have determined that it is a v-belt that needs to be put on. There is a diagram under the hood which shows this belt too (it also shows the serp belt and that is how I figured out how to get it back on)!!  My question is how do I get this belt on?  I cannot figure out what to do if there is some sort of tensioner or something to loosen the pulleys to get the belt on.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Someone told me that there is only one belt for thall of the pulleys on this car but that doesn't make sense there is another track for the "v-belt" I just can't loosen it to get the belt attached!  Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Eric,
You didn't mention which engine you have. Is it the 3.0L V-6? If so then yes there is a separate belt for the AC. You will have to remove the serpentine again it appears to me, and then loosen the lock nut on the shaft of the AC belt idler pulley. There is an adjusting screw at about the 2 o'clock position which when turned will lower the pulley to allow you to put on a new belt. The belt tension should be about 150 pounds (but you need a tension gauge to read that, so just do it by judgement, and check for slipping early on).
Use the adjusting screw to tighten the tension then relock the lock nut to hold it there. Then reinstall the serpentine.

PS Let me know if you have a different engine.
